How to change a headlamp bulb
New MOT rules include information on the bright HID lamps:
“Some vehicles may be fitted with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps. It is not permitted to convert existing halogen headlamp units for use with HID bulbs. If it is clear that such a conversion has been carried out, rather than replacing the entire unit with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs, the headlamp should be rejected.” – read more here.

Hotter bulbs
Some newer, brighter, bulbs can get much hotter than original bulbs. This can cause the plastic plug that connects to the bulb, to overheat and melt. Some people replace the plastic connector with a ceramic one. You can buy adapter cables from eBay.
More information on bulbs will be added.
